Windshield Wipers: Don’t wait for failure
As the seasons change, we enter again into another cold and wet winter. When you are visiting family or taking a trip, the worst time to realize you need new windshield wiper blades is while traveling in the rain or snow. If you know your windshield wipers need maintenance, don’t wait for failure.
Windshield Wipers at Sierra Car Care

Ninety percent of all driving decisions are based on a clear unobstructed view of the road. This means good visibility is a priority, especially during wet weather when vision may
be impaired by water, road splash, sleet or snow on
the windshield.

Our recommendation is to change your windshield wiper blades every spring and fall. Over time wiper blades will build up with dirt, grime, and are affected by the sun’s harsh UV rays – even if the wipers aren’t used much. This causes the soft rubber edge to break down or deteriorate.

There are two options for replacement of your windshield wipers:

  • Replace rubber insert for your existing wiper blades
  • Replace entire windshield wiper blades

Replacing the whole blade helps avoid problems caused by improperly fitting inserts, which can increase noise, scratch your windshield or create a safety hazard. Some vehicles have different sized wiper blades for driver and passenger sides. Please see your owner’s manual to determine what size and connection you need if replacing yourself.

If you bring your vehicle to any of our Sierra Car Care service stations or MST Tire Center, we can determine what size blades you need and will top off your windshield wiper fluid FREE with the purchase of any 2 new windshield wiper blades. Our goal is to provide performance products and quality customer service.

Gas for goodnessTahoe Players Miracle on 34th Street the Musical

For the month of December we are donating to Tahoe Players and Evelyn Mount.

Tahoe Players Association is a community theatrical company with a primary focus on quality theater performance. The company utilizes actors, singers, dancers, and musicians of all ages spanning northern Nevada and California.

Evelyn Mount (since 1976) has provided holiday meals to thousands of Reno and Sparks families through the Community Outreach Food Drive. This wonderful program accepts food, gift cards from local grocery stores, clothing and monetary donations at 2530 Cannan St. in northeast Reno. There is also a food donation bin at the the Sak-n-Save  grocery store at 1901 Silverada Blvd., off Oddie Blvd.

We would like to encourage everyone to take joy in the small moments that fill our lives. Let us help give back to others this holiday season by sharing our time, talents or treasures.

We’ll be making a donation for every gallon of gas sold from our Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Centers. And we’ll donate $1.00 per tire sold each Saturday at MST Tire Center on Mill Street.

So when you need gas or new tires, you can also support our charities of the month by visiting any of our 5 locations on Wednesdays for gas and Saturdays for tires (Mill Street location only).
