Sierra Car Care and MST Tire CenterCommunity support is important for our city’s growth and success, that is why we would like to encourage shoppers like yourself, to fuel or “Pump-it-Up” at our gas stations located in the Reno and Sparks area.

Every month we donate a portion of sales from the pump at our Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Center locations, and a portion of new tire sales from MST Tire Center, to benefit a local charity. Each month we will name a new charity for the proceeds to help. You can help these charities too, just by purchasing from Sierra Car Care and MST Tire Center.

We call it “Gas for Goodness.” All donations in April will support the Solace Tree. Every Wednesday, we’ll make a donation from the pump for every gallon of gas sold from our Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Centers. And we’ll donate $1.00 per tire sold each Saturday at MST Tire Center on Mill Street.

So Pump-it-Up on Wednesdays at your local Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Centers, or get new tires on Saturdays from the Mill Street location (only), and you can help to make a difference. A difference in our community.

MORE ABOUT THE SOLACE TREE, OUR LOCAL CHARITY OF THE MONTH:
The mission of the Solace Tree is that all children, teens and their family members have the freedom to express their feelings associated with death in a safe and loving environment. Our peer support programs and educational opportunities help children and teens learn to cope and adjust to the changes in their lives.

In 2002, while teaching at an elementary school and finishing his Masters degree in school counseling, Emilio Parga discovered he had cancer. He was also assisting students who had lost parents to suicide, accidental death and cancer. In his attempt to provide these children with emotional support, he realized that many kids and teenagers in Northern Nevada had lost a parent, sibling or caregiver throughout the year, and that there were no grief support programs for them. Knowing all too well a child or teen’s need for support when a family member or caregiver dies, Emilio decided there was no time to wait and he created the Solace Tree in 2004.

Customers often come in frustrated that their air conditioning:

  1. Starts off cool, but then the air warms up as it runs
  2. Is cool, but it isn’t as cold as it used to be

What to Do
If your A/C isn’t blowing frosty air like it used to, your system may have a leak or need a part replaced. Or you’re A/C may just need a recharge. To find out, bring your car into any of our 5 Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Centers for an air conditioning inspection.

Complete Air Conditioning Inspection
If your car’s A/C isn’t keeping you cool enough, schedule an air conditioning inspection at one of our service stations. We will:

  • Measure output temperature
  • Visually inspect for leaks on hoses, lines, and seals
  • Inspect drive belts and pulleys
  • Check system pressure
  • Inspect condenser function
  • Test compressor function

Everything you need to keep you cool on the road.

Yours truly,
Laurie Yarborough
President, Mill Street Tire Center

“The best part of my job is making sure a customer’s car is safe – and doing it honestly. I want customers to feel happy and safe about their service. For me, being able to give customers peace of mind about their cars is priceless.”

Gas for goodness
Every Wednesday in August, we’ll make a donation for every gallon of gas sold from our Sierra Car Care/MST Tire Centers. And we’ll donate $1.00 per tire sold from MST Tire Center on Mill Street. All of August’s donations will support Good Luck Macbeth Theater Company.

Good Luck Macbeth captures the imagination and nourishes the heart of our vibrant community by creating great theater for adults and children, providing academic theatrical training, encouraging artistic growth, collaborating with area businesses, partnering with other organizations and artists to present movies, improv, puppetry, life drawing events, and music.

So when you need gas or new tires, you can also support the local arts in our community by visiting any of our 5 locations on Wednesdays for Sierra Car Care gas and Saturdays for tires at Mill Street.
